Tuesday 14th October The Life of a Master Thatcher Given by Mr David Wood, Master thatcher from Staffordshire. Mr Wood also makes everything from gazebo’s, summer houses and dovecoates as well as thatching houses all over England. None Just turn up on the night

Tuesday 10th March The Life and Achievements of Catherine Booth and the foundation of the Salvation Army. Talk given by Danny Wells. None Just turn up on the night
Tuesday 14th April The Story of the Violin Given by Christian Rose, local musician and expert in stringed instruments. None Just turn up on the night
Tuesday 12th May Civic Society Annual General Meeting followed by The Magpie - Mischievous Villain or Not? Talk given by Kevin Reynolds –master of natural history photography. None Just turn up on the night
Tuesday 9th June A visit to Nunckley Heritage Centre at Mountsorrell A guided tour of an amazing place. 4 museums in one! A railway quarry museum plus café plus local history centre as well as the branch line for the Great Central Railway! TBC TBC
Tuesday 14th July The Romans in Leicester with archaeologist Peter Liddel A visit to the newly opened Jewry Wall Museum guided by our favourite historian showing what our Roman ancestor achieved, followed by a historic lunch! TBC TBC

All the meetings will be at St Helen's Heritage Centre starting at 7.30pm (open from 7pm) unless otherwise stated.

Entrance free to members unless otherwise stated and £4.00 to non members.

The new Member Open Discussion meetings is open to MEMBERS ONLY.  You will have an opportunity to comment and discuss various points in the meeting on the topic at hand. We will have guest speakers attending to give more context to the subject. PLEASE WATCH THE DATES AS THEY ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE DUE TO SPEAKER AVAILABILITY AND VENUE BOOKING.
