Tuesday April 9th 2024 A Tour of Erasmus Darwin's House at Lichfield A special trip and tour round the house of an amazing man. Mr Darwin was a doctor, an inventor, a founder member of the Lunar Society and author of ground breaking books. (This Mr Darwin was the uncle of Charles Darwin.) He also had many children! The trip will cost £10.00 and includes some refreshments. We will also have time to visit Lichfield Cathedral. Suggest we use the Bird St Car Park. It’s £5.00 for over 3 hours or less for 2. Walk to the pool and go R. to Dam St to access the Cathedral and the House which is opposite. £10 pp
Tuesday May 14th 2024 AGM followed by A Special Tour of Ashby Museum. Our Annual General Meeting will take place at 7.30pm prompt at St Helen’s Heritage Centre starting with a complimentary glass of wine. After the AGM we will make our way to Ashby Museum. There we will have a guided tour and will be shown hidden corners and artifacts that are not normally available to the public. N/A
Tuesday June 11th 2024 Guided Tour of Tamworth Castle Following the visit of Tamworth Castle’s archivist to us last year we are now travelling to Tamworth to see some of those same artifacts in situ! The tour begins at 2.30pm at the entrance to the Castle. Car parking can be either in the town at the Spinning School Car Park, Aldergate or near the Castle, but that is only short stay. We could use a long stay park, The Jolly Sailor car park, which is about 8 minutes walk away from the castle and only costs £1.50 but a bit complicated to find. See map. The tour will cost £16 per person and includes free tea/coffee and cake. £16 pp
Tuesday July 9th 2024 A Canal Trip from Loughborough to Mountsorrel A delightful cruise along the River Soar passing Barrow on Soar and stopping at Mountsorrel for refreshments. We shall meet at the wharf of the Peter Marchant Trust in Loughborough at 9.45am. (Map showing the wharf location attached). The route to the wharf is along the A6 in Loughborough, down Beeches Rd to the end and then turn R. along the canal. The cruise takes about 4 and a half hours and the cost is £16 each including tea and coffee en route. Lunch can be taken at the Inn at Mountsorrel or Members may bring their own sandwiches. All the meetings will be at St Helen's Heritage Centre starting at 7.30pm unless otherwise stated.

Entrance free to members unless otherwise stated and £3.00 to non members.
